Our group of 4 parked at Marshfield Station. Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail to Lakes of the Clouds Hut. It was soft snow up to the ledges, wind blown and crusty to the hut. We opted for snowshoes and were happy we did. Others that followed us bare booted it to the hut. We put on our summit gear and headed toward Monroe only to turn around after about 20 yards because of high winds and deteriorating visibility.
