Trail conditions: Stony Brook leaf covered and wet down below..last climb up to Carter Moriah tedious on wet mossy slippy rocks.. Ledges on Carter Moriah mostly dry and good footing..a few slippy spots.. a couple of large puddles..or small ponds , the result of poor drainage..slippery bog bridges..No blowdowns..water crossings were all fine
Equipment: warm in the valley but 42 degrees, 15mph wind in the fog had us in gloves and hats on the summit where we did not linger long..
Comments: hoped for a better day on this fine section of Carter moriah Trail but persisitant clouds at 3800 feet or so kept the summit in the clouds..lower ledges offered some great views in many directions..Most of the Stony Brook Trail a delightful walk in open birch and hobblebush forest..very pretty today and a good day out in the woods with OTHH
