Though it's not a 4k footer the Mount Potash Trail is a hike that provides a challenge and some spectacular views. The only trouble I had was crossing the Downes Brook and I managed to fall in and take a plunge. However, since it was a warm day (upper 70's) and I was hot and sweating I didn't mind taking a "bath" in the nice cool and clear water of the Downes.

The Potash trail is a hike that is well worth the time. I plan to do it again before the fall is over. JUST AS SOON AS IT STOPS RAINING!

I'm not much of a photographer and I use a cheap camera but I enclosed a few pics from the summit and one of the Downes Brook; shortly after falling in it.

Nice pictures! Mt Potash has always been a favorite of mine! Too bad about falling in the river...that water must have been cold!

Potash was one of my first White Mountain hikes. I hiked it in 1991. I was wearing a cotton sweater and had a gym bag slung over one shoulder. I wore Converse sneaks with no tread left at all.
It seemed like it took all day to climb. I remember being just stunned at how beautiful it was and I was pretty much hooked right then and there.
Thanks for the pics, they bring back alot of memories!

I would like to do Hedgehog & Potash someday.

Any chance the parking there is one of those targeted for elimination?

Parking areas on the Kancamangus are being targeted for elimination? Could you tell me more please?
