For you history buffs, there's an excellent article on the Cog Railroad in Wikipedia, with lots of pictures at the bottom. There's trivia also, like "when/where did the Ski train run" along with many other interesting (at least to me) facts. A good resource, and lots of effort much have been devoted to researching it.

Nice article. The only thing missing is that the Cog was once directly connected to the main rail lines at Fabyans? The grade and cuts now serve as part of the cross country ski trails at Bretton Woods. I have always wondered if some of the delegates of the1944 World Monetary Conference took a ride on the COG. That conference was a pretty big deal and reportedly had numerous flaws.

There's another article on Fabyan House which was originally a large hotel built on the same spot as the current restaurant. Another good article is Wikepedia's page on the Monetary Conference which lead to the IMF and World Bank. There were 730 delegates to that conference - my guess is that some would have taken a ride on the Cog, but it's only a guess.
