Mount Avalon via Mount Avalon Trail
Date of Hike: Thursday March 5th, 2009
Trail Conditions: Packed Powder to summit. All snowbridges over brooks still firm. No blowdowns. The section of the trail to Mount Field had not been broken out since Monday's storm.
Special Equipment: Snowshoes.
Comments: Mild, relatively calm winds made it a beautiful day to be out in the Whites. All high summits were clear under a pristine cerulean #3509 blue sky. Waxing gibbous moon above Mt. Washington would have made a great photo op.
