I was worried that I would have made the drive out to the fish hatchery only to find the gate closed. It was open, although there were two rangers in a pickup truck, and I thought I saw a worried look on one of their faces as I drove by.
Took York Pond to Bunnell Notch to Mount Cabot trail. The tall grass at the bottom was very wet at 8:30, and dragged along the shins, and there's a bridge that has one of the boards broken. Parts of the Bunnell Notch were very very muddy and could probably stand some boards if they don't want folks walking farther and farther on either side, although all that being said, the rest of the trail up to the cabin is in fine condition.
The same cannot be said about the trail between the cabin and the summit. Four major blowdowns, all of which like they have been there for quite a while since all already have well-developed paths around them.
This is all pre-Irene.
