Cold and windy day on Mt. Cabot today. 1-2 inches of crusty snow and/or ice on most of all trails (some bare sections). I think traction was 100% required today.

We did loop visiting the Horn and Unknown Pond on the way down. 11.5-ish mile loop.

All trails icy, but maintained well and easy enough to follow. Unknown Pond Trail could be a little tricky once it gets snow because there's a lot of open woods and it desperately needs reblazing.

York Pond Road was icy in spots but fine for all cars so long as you go slow and not park in any downward sloping parking spots.

Visited The Horn for the first time. Nice but you better get there within next few years because many trees are beginning to eat away at the views. Scramble up Horn was doable today but would be more challenging with more ice or snow.

A few blowdowns along the route but nothing not easy walked over, under, or around.
