Special Equipment: Muddy resistant boots?
Trail Conditions: Muddy (as expected after the rain)
Comments: Two-day backpack trip. We started out at 2pm to Unknown Pond which turned into a decent day with some sun. The trail starts out nice and flat, with a mix of boot-suckin' muddy trail. At Unknown Pond the 7 of us were the only ones there for the overnight. Sunday was breezy with a mix of sun and clouds and the view from the Horn offers a unique perspective on the Great North Woods...excellent views. After reaching the summit of Cabot we went inside the cabin for lunch. The trip down Bunnell Notch was an enjoyable jaunt through the mostly open birch woods...pretty easy going with muddy terrain thrown in for good measure.
