Trail: Signal Ridge
Just to add a little to Mountain 49's description of the Signal Ridge Trail. There is a mud hole between the two primary water crossings that is knee deep. I usually just stay in the middle of the trail, but it was the end of a long, hot day and I was following a group who were trying to avoid a muddy area and walked along the edge of the trail. Naturally, I was the only one who fell in. Had I stayed on the trail, I would have been muddy, but not "that" muddy. I put a log in to help others stay clear of the hole. Lesson 1: Stay on the trail. Lesson 2: It feels good (freeing) to wade across streams and not worry about rock hoping on the way out.
