Date of Hike: Wednesday, January 21, 2009
Trail Conditions: Packed powder, windblown
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes
Comments:
Sawyer River Road to Signal Ridge Trail - packed by sled traffic, but snowshoes a good idea since it's not groomed.
Signal Ridge Trail - mostly well packed. Though the brooks are not frozen, the major crossings are bridged. The exposed section of trail along Signal Ridge was drifted knee high. Now broken out and packed.
Removed over a dozen blowdowns, though 4-5 still remain (nothing too bad).
Grey jays at summit were extremely aggressive!
