Trail conditions: Took the relocation up from baker Road..some very impressive mud down below..once up into the switchbacks trail dried out and mostly good footing. Section between the West Ledge and the peak wet and muddy. Rocks all dry.. Trail to the North viewpoint sparsely blazed..Mt Cube Trail down to 25a was very wet and muddy towards the top..as we descended trail got drier with occaissional gobs of mud..Brook Crossings all fine
Equipment: pole helpful in spots..other than that a nice summer hike
Comments: beautiful day for this 52wav..I needed a shorter hike today (knee doc tomorrow)
and Karen and Mary needed it so off we went. Very muddy down below with alternating wet and dry mud so you never knew where to step..slippy as well. All viewpoints were exceptional today with the champion being the North Peak Viewpoint which is well worth the side trip..Terrific rock formations only added to the views. Saw several thru hikers today including a couple of sobos..Good day out with OTHH
