Date of Hike: 10/3/2009
Trail Conditions: lots of wet. It rained the night before, and was drizzly all day until it began to rain again in the afternoon. The lower trail was in good shape, but was somewhat muddy in the switchbacks, with pools of water in the area between and above the stairs. One small downed tree, easily stepped over.
Special Equipment Required: Waterproof boots, poles, especially for the descent.
Comments: Windy and no rain at the summit, but no view whatsoever. Even with the amazingly dismal weather, I was leapfrogging 2 other groups up the Osseo Trail -- a backpacker with a brown & white bulldog/boxer headed up the Franconia Ridge Trail, and a youth group (about 8 or 9 boys & girls and a couple of adults) who had camped overnight, and were going up Flume & Liberty.
Round Trip 6 hours from the Lincoln Woods parking area (3 1/2 up, 2 1/2 down)
