1" of new snow at the base to 8 to 10" of new powder at the top. Trees laden with new snow higher up. Broke trail through the new stuff to summit with some drifts just below the Jct. with the Garfield Ridge Trail. One walkaround blowdown. Stream crossings mostly bridged over and are no problem. At the summit before 11 o'clock and everything was socked in. No wind and mild temps made for a nice hike. Like I said before, I think this hike is the best bang for your buck in the Whites. Too bad no VFFT. There were 9 other hikers after me, so the trail in very well packed. Nice talking to J & J and Steve on the trail. I bare booted to about 2500 ft. and then switched to snowshoes for the ascent to the summit and back. Traction needed on the summit cone. Crampons might have been better than snowshoes off the cone, but I was too lazy to change. I took my time down sidestepping and did ok. Garfield Ridge Trail was not broken out.
