Fresh snow the whole way. Great snowshoeing in the whites after a few days of snow. Parked off 302, snowshoed on the xc ski trail to Zealand Camp then walked on the un-plowed section of Zealand road to the Hale Brook Tr. Great feeling when you see no marks in the snow. Hale Brook Tr. well marked no downs fresh snow 6 to 12 inches all the way deeper at the top and some drifts of course. Broke trail whole way and the five people behind me solidified the trail. Took same way back to lot. Great day of snowshoeing.
If you want a hike and don't want to break trail this would be a good one before the next snow.
Its winter, it was a cold day, and clouds lingered in the area the whole time I was out. Snowshoes and warm clothes. Another great day in the Whites.
