Conditions: 2-4" of crusty snow which gradually covers around 1-2' of snow to the summit.
Equipment: Snowshoes X 5 (of us!)
Comments: We anticipated this would be an easy half-day hike. Instead, it took us approx 7 hours, which included a couple hours of exhausting trailbreaking in 100-pace rotations. Haystack Rd was closed, so that added another mile on each end to go from the road near the old school bus. Still, it was a great day to get out and pre-burn calories for Thanksgiving! Great company all!
