Trail Conditions: There are a few inches of snow at lower elevation above a semi-solid base of ice. Water crossings were numerous due to the rain in the last 24 hours. The trail has deeper snow about a half mile from the summit. I was surprised to see the amounts of ice near the final scramble to the summit.
Special Equipment Required: Poles were very helpful, microspikes were essential, and I was very glad to have my Hillsound Pros for the final quarter mile.
Comments: Optional - I was the first person on the trail today and really enjoyed walking on a fresh layer of snow. The winds were pretty intense at the summit but it was a beautiful day. Gobble Gobble everyone.
