met nhmtnhiker in plymouth and started up from the basin parking lot at 6:30. it was already getting dusky in the woods. we made a good pace and around 7:15 put headlamps on. my new petzl ROCKS. we continued up steadily, bit muddy from last nights rains. We put on a layer at treeline and came out on top of liberty after about hour and 43 of hiking. The stars were incredible. no moon, it was real dark without the headlamps. you could see the silhouette of mt lincoln north of us, and some other silhouettes. The strip of lights in lincoln looked very bright. It was fairly cold up there, maybe low 40's, and we headed down. Amazing views of my feet and the muddy trail...laffs. Very still and quiet, the only wind was up high. Nice steady quiet walk in the woods. Its a good workout after work. We got back to the car at about 10:30, just got home. Pretty peaceful all in all.
