conditions: bare ground till last water crossing. monorail after that turning to hard pack. 2" new snow before tent site, then 4" to top.
equiptment: micro spikes to tent site, snowshoes after that
comments: nice sunny day with beautiful views. a little windy at top. snow covered trees at top reminded me of a feb. trip. broke trail, WHERE'S SPRING ? franconia ridge to haystack and to flume not broken out. passed 6 hikers going down, trail should be well packed.
