Casual Hiker
New member
We set out from the park headquarters on the afternoon of the 27th to find that only one person had hiked the trails since the snow earlier in the week. There was 6-8 inches of beautiful snow on the trail, and we got to help break the trail in our snowshoes as we walked along. There is now a clear snowshoe track along both trails now as we crossed paths with the hiker ahead of us, and another pair came along behind us to pack down the trail even further. Snowshoes are no longer necessary for much of the trail. Some of the steeper sections were slick, and we slid down those on our way back to the parking lot.
