TRAIL CONDITIONS:
It was a fantastic day for snowshoeing.
_ Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail: There was firmly packed powder from the trailhead until we were perhaps a tenth of a mile from the LOC Hut. At this point the trail was no longer visible due to drifted snow. However, the snow was firm enough that it was no problem to just head uphill across the trackless snow toward the hut.
_ Mount Monroe Loop Trail: Due to snow drifting, there was no visible track to follow. Therefore, getting to the summit was basically a "snow-whack", which was no problem and was very easy to do since the snow was firmly packed by the forces of Mother Nature!
Water crossings were snow-bridged, and there were no blowdowns of any significance
