85% of this trail still had a thick monorail. High water on the brooks we had crossed. Not much for sturdy ground to walk on. The rail was packed hard so the only post holes occurred on the descent. You really need patience to walk the rail in springtime. The snow bridges are starting to collapse. Beware. Should have brought traction for the steep sections. Some parts of the trip were particularly daunting. Although the steepest ledges were clear which was a help. Snow is still up to 6 feet deep in most places above 3500 ft. Ice covered pines at the top of the east peak and main peak. Other than the rainy weather at the start the temps evened out and there was some excellent melt going on.

Equipment:
Bare Boots
Poncho
Patience

Recommend:
Traction - At least for the next couple of weeks
