Trail conditions: The beginning of the Success Trail is one of the poorest marked trails in the Whites! If you don't have the AMC White Mountain Guide, you would have no idea to take the right fork in .02 miles at a clearing. (We took the left fork, followed this logging road up to 2100', where it became a dead end :D...we lost 1 1/2 hours and had to cut our trip to the Outlook) The sign 0.2 miles from the trailhead that was supposed to indicate to that the right fork is overgrown with leaves. We decided to cut back some of it. We also built a cairn at the right fork so its a bit more obvious that is the direction to take.

Equipment needed: Rain gear. Bugs not bad.

Comments: Thunderstorms were threatening when we first started. We got a few sprinkles and not enough to wet us very much. It was so cool to see the clouds whirling around the Presidentials from the view at The Outlook! A good day out with Jon and Kevin.
