Trail conditions: An inch or so of new-fallen snow over an older crust at the trail head. About a foot or so near the summit. The trail was packed the whole way, but snow shoes were helpful for traction on some of the steeper sections. Water crossings were not a problem.
Special equipment: Traction devices and poles helpful.
Comments: Unfortunately the summit was fogged in. Otherwise a very nice day.
I lost my watch about 1/3 of a mile from the Avalon trail head. Black leather band, white face, gold case, Omega. Lots of sentimental value. Please let me know if you find it. Thanks!
