Went up Ammu and down Jewell. Nice firm crunchy snow with a layer of ice above treeline. No blowdowns. This ice required the use of crampons between Lake in the Clouds and Washington and down to the Jewell turnoff. I also had snowshoes expecting some soft snow, but carried them only for ballast. The Ammu trail is great for butt glissading so going up Jewell and coming down Ammu would have been better.
