Fantastic hike you all, and great photos Bob! So glad you made the summit, despite some iffy weather :) You're so close now!

Nice trip report. (Except for the misidentification of me. :) I'm the person from the trailhead; it's nice to know who you are, now! Now, if the guy in the red jacket and blue gaitors will please identify himself....). It was great to beat the storm and get some views without wind.

That was me with the red parka (and red face... I should have introduced myself!). Who would have thought that everyone on the mountain was a VFTTer?
Thanks for posting the pictures. My wife usually just gets my verbal description of the day, which I'm quite sure doesn't come close to capturing the beauty.
Hope to meet you all again!

You were moving along pretty quick.

By the way, did anyone else notice the dead housefly sitting on top of the ice at the hut? I thought it was very strange - I'm not sure how it got there except that maybe the warm spell brought it to life in the hut and somehow it got outside and died. Either that or someone has a population of houseflies living in their pack.

Umaskis & mhrsebago - It was great to meet both you! Guess great minds all think alike :> We've updated the Trip Report with the correct names. We didn't see the fly - however, as you know there was a lot of ice!

That forlorn figure climbing up the ravine below the hut looks like an arctic explorer. Glad all went well and you got #46!

That is a photo of Umsaskis!

MEB's recent posting of a short video clip of Mt Madison prompted us to give it a try - here is a short clip of Geri on top of Washington - it is 1.6 MB in size. Something we might play with in the future.

I had a great time (as usual) with you guys! It was cold but, what a trip!! WOW!!! Once upon a time, if someone asked me if I'd go up Washington in winter, I'd have said "What!?! Do you think I'm nuts???" Now, it's pretty obvious that I am. :D

Anyway, thanks again for a great time Chris, Bob, and Geri.

Here's some pics
