Trail conditions: Well trod with mostly hard pack, lots of ice over ledges higher up where rock scrambling is required. Minor drifting on flat sections up high.

Special equipment Required: Secure traction required on the upper rock scrambles, along with a long reach to branches, edges of rocks, anything to hold onto. We wore microspikes and 6 point crampons, but could have benefited from full crampons. Traction would also have helped all the way up and down. Snowshoes not really needed, would have been a problem over the icy scrambles.

Comments: What a beautiful, clear, crisp day in the Whites with wonderful views out over the lakes to the South. Some wind but not much bother as the trail is mostly in the woods.
