Had a nice hike up blueberry ledge trail yesterday. Some eucalyptus oil on our hats was enough to keep the black flies at bay. Just as we bagged the summitt we could hear thunder off in the distance. I initially thought that the storm seemed be moving away and sat down on the ledges for lunch. Halfway through my sandwich I noticed my son's hair standing on end from static electricity!! We quickly packed up and scrambled out of there along with another group. I could smell ozone the way down. We were literally sliding down the ledges in the pouring rain anticipating lightning at any minute! We all made it down just fine and in spite of the disruption had a fine hike of it.
