Conditions: I brought my snowshoes in hopes of breaking a trail only to discover that the trail was well packed!

Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes were probably not needed but since I already had them on I remained in them. A windblock hat was mighty helpful as temps were below 0 when I started.

Comments: We (Marley my dog) decided to go on a mountain that was named for a man and his dog. I felt this was an appropriate mountain due to the time I had allotted to hike in the morning. It was a glorious day (like there are bad days in the Whites) with glimmering sunshine through the snow covered evergreens. The most important aspect of the journey was that Marley really enjoys the snow (I built him a snow dog house at home that he loves laying in while chewing on a bone).
