Date of Hike: Sunday, January 4, 2009
Trail Conditions: Shallow windblown powder and ice
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes, crampons
Comments: This trail had been recently snowshoed, maybe the day before, and had a nice track. I started off barebooting, but switched to snowshoes near the Wilderness sign when the snow got deeper. Crampons were necessary for the yellow ice from just below the "Shortcut."
There is one complex blowdown near the Wilderness boundary. I manually removed one blowdown between the "Shortcut" and Mt. Wonalancet summit.
It was a beautiful day for this short hike.
