Climbed on March 11 during our annual Tucson visit.
Wrightson is about 40 miles south of Tucson in Madera Canyon. It's about ten miles roundtrip, ascending about 4000 feet from 5400 at the trailhead to 9453(?) at the summit.
Here's a view from the road driving in to the canyon:
Summit cone from about a mile in on the Old Baldy trail:
Looking west toward the observatory on Mt. Hopkins:
Summit cone from Old Baldy Saddle, about a mile from the top:
From the summit looking back down into Old Baldy Saddle:
Summit looking west to Mt. Hopkins:
Descending Wrightson, looking east:
It was our first big hike of the year, so we took our time, which meant grizzled retirees passed us on the way down. Great trail, great conditions. Very little snow, temps in the 40s and 50s (it was 87 back in Tucson).
