Ishmael & I headed out in to the teeth of a storm for this one. We had selected this hike because we wanted to stay below the tree line and save ourselves the exposure. Winds never got over 25 mph for the whole hike. We started about 7:20 am and the snow was just starting to fall. We headed up the Livermore Road to the Scaur Ridge trail by which time snow was falling steadily. The wind did not become a factor until we reached the Pine Bend Brook Trail, where we donned our balaclavas and goggles. The trail was becoming mashed potatoes which made going rather tough up to the summit of North Tri and across the ridge to Middle. We did not spend more than 2 minutes on the summit of Middle. By the time we were halfway back to the col between M & N our tracks were completely gone. Back to the car by 2:40.
Glad we had snowshoes, GPS, gators, balaclava, and goggles.
