What a wonderful hike; long but worth it. The White Mountain Guide says to park in the lot at Haystack Rd but the road is not open. I parked at the end of Little River Rd (plenty of parking) and walked about 0.9 miles to the trailhead of North Twin Trail. Fortunately for me, I had a GPS and the trail was already broken out from the parking area. It may have been shorter to park on Rt 3 and walk in on Haystack Rd but I don't know how long Haystack is. The other problem is that Haystack Rd is not marked.
From the trailhead, the trail was nicely broken and packed (really packed well). Snow shows needed for traction going up but on the way down I barebooted just fine. The trail crosses the Little River a number of times. I would suggest you stay on the left bank and avoid crossing so many times. Eventually, you will turn west and start to gain elevation on North Twin.
