Trail Conditions:
As of the date of this report, the trail is well-broken out for about the first 30 minutes hiking time from the trailhead. After that, there are only the snowshoe tracks left by me going and coming from the crossing of Nancy Brook at 1.6 miles from the trailhead.
Once across Nancy Brook, my snowshoe tracks lead up toward Mt. Bemis on the abandoned trail which once led to the summit of Mt. Bemis. So, just as a word of caution (as of the date of this report), once you cross Nancy Brook at 1.6 miles, my snowshoe tracks lead up toward Mt. Bemis. The regular Nancy Pond Trail that heads west toward Nancy Cascades (and beyond) is UNBROKEN.
Comments: My journey today was to several viewpoints on (and off) the abandoned trail to Mt. Bemis. It was not my intent to go all the way to the summit of Bemis. Additional commentary about this trek is located in the Trip Reports forum. (Click HERE)
