Today, out in California, the Obama administration is holding one of a series of conferences to call attention to the need to protect more of America's great outdoors and convince the public to enjoy the nation's spectacular landscape. We urge that, in the spirit of the Cottrells, and in keeping with the goal of the America's Great Outdoors program, that you take a hike. Where hardly matters. The point is to be out on the trail on your own two feet, or on a horse or a bike.
