How about some of These ?

No doubt about it a departure from what we've seen for awhile.

And then there is This
Wow!

This is Tele taking a bit of AT gear, the free-pivot toe. It'll be great for touring on heavier gear. I'll be in the market for a new ski/binding combo at the end of this season, that those bindings look very interesting. The other feature that is interesting for me is releasable, not sure which direction I'll go.

The 7TM Tour advertises both free pivot touring mode and releasability.

But, I'm having trouble seeing the need for free pivot tele touring bindings here in the east. It would seem that western style ascents that might be longer and on more open slopes might really benefit from AT style free pivot climbing. Seems like the places in the east that demand 3 or 4 buckle tele (or AT) boots are relatively short and often steep enough to put you out of the skis entirely and into boots + crampons.

If I were going to trade the low weight and simplicity of basic pins or light cable bindings for steep eastern chute skiing, I would be considering something more along the lines of the Ultimate Telemark Binding.

The feature I find particularly compelling about the UTB is the integrated boot crampon. If I'm going to drag the extra ounces up the hill, I think that feature would make a bigger difference in any eastern BC where I'm going to be skiing in my T1s.

With lower cut and softer flexeing 2 buckle boots, I can't see using anything other than pins or at most 3 pin/cable bindings.
