Pretty cold day today, with blustery snow in the AM which cleared out by mid morning to reveal a very nice clear and sunny but chilly day. Snow is just about covering the elevations which certainly will be increased by sunday's storm. Whacked straight up North Dome to the viewpoint not from the col and then over to the summit and then beeline to Sherrill.
P.S. The lanyard to the canister cover on Sherrill is off. I whacked the top off with my pole and it went rolling down the hill!
The steep pitches on north dome are made slippier with the light snow cover over the fall leaves but snow is not really deep enough for crampons. Perhaps a stabilizer would be useful for those that have a lack of traction on the hills.
Its winter, break out the winter boots...
