Today Tom and I hiked the Kinsmans from the Lafayette Campground using the Lonesome Lake trail. At around 2500 feet we put on Stabilicers. When we reached the lake, we took some pictures, then had lunch at the hut. We then continued up the Fishin Jimmy trail to the Kinsman Ridge trail. At around 2800 feet we switched to crampons due to moderate ice and steep sections. The day was beautiful with clear skies and awsome views. With many stops for pictures and talking with other hikers, the hike took about 8 hours.
