Trail Conditions: Deep Powder, we got what we asked for by heading out right after a storm. Getting a grip with my MSR snowshoes was difficult particularly on the steep sections. We broke trail up to the summit of North Tri and returned the same way to enjoy our labor on the somewhat packed trail. To anyone going up there much work was done by us two hikers to break the trail out.

Special Equipment Required: We winter camped out about 3 miles up the trail on a flat section, cooked alot of food, and enjoyed ourselves relaxing in the crisp air. We made the summit the next day. We had plans to traverse the Sandwich range over Whiteface, and Passaconaway, but the depth of the snow made that impossible.

Comments: Offpitch steep sidehilling sections were like swimming uphill trying to use trees to grab onto, it was fun but taxing.
