N. Twin via Haystack Rd. to walking on top of Little River to N. Twin Tr. and back.
Easy going on the road and one of the best trails is hiking on top of the river, highly recommend. We broke trail up the N. Twin Tr. Four inches to a foot of snow packed hard after the rain. Minor sink-age with snowshoes on. We walked on top of the drifts at the top with little to no sinking, hard snow. There was a few duck unders no problems though and a small section were the branches are face high.
We wore snowshoes most of the day took them off when we made it back to the road.
Great views of the whole presidential range, great weather little to no wind. About 25 degrees at the top. A beautiful day in the Whites.
