We hiked up to NE Cannonball via Lonesome Lake Trail. Snow was 3-4" down at TH and increased to 12-18" up on Kinsman Ridge. We met up with AMC NH Chapter party who had left summit just before us and having snowshoes packed out the trail for us. All 4 of us wore microspikes which were ideal for the packed trail. No one has been down beyond NE Cannonballs as of time of our visit. Snowshoes would be recommended beyond NE Cannonball. The NH Chapter party was headed for Cannon so assuming they were successfull, one might assume that trail is packed as well.

Weather was much nicer than the forecast made it sound. It was cloudy with high cloud ceiling enabling us to enjoy long range views with patches of sun here and there. Summits of Lafayette and Lincoln were in the cloud ceiling, but rest of ridge was visible. Cannon and Kinsmans were also not in clouds. Light breezes and moderate temps around freezing made for a great day to be in the mountains.

Lonesome Lake is frozen enough where we walked around part of it on the ice (close to the edge of course) and it felt pretty solid.
