Northern Kilkenny Ridge Trail + Devil's hopyard

Found South Pond Road closed to Recreation Area where trailhead starts until 10 a.m.. Reversed to drive in on a dirt road and parked beside lake, hiking in on a dirt road to recreation area and trailhead. Trail was somewhat muddy with one significant brook crossing shortly after Devil's Hopyard trail intersection. No bridges over streams as mentioned in AMC guide. Went as far as Mudd Brook Trail over Roger's Ledge. Devil's Hopyard trail is a rock scramble and challenge after a 9.7 mille hike.
