Ascended Old Mast Rd. Broken out about 1/2 way up,then deep unbroken powder up to the
4-Way jct.No tracks in any direction.Active woodpecker scene there.Descended via Lawrence Tr. into Paugus pass.
Down the Kelly Tr.thru More deep unbroken powder to complete circuit. Section below
plunge pool thru the box canyon for approx. .5 mi. was difficult w/ footing & stability. 3 large blowdowns on Kelly Tr. Very deep snows thru lower hardwoods & out to fire rd.
Equipment: Snowshoes(my 30" in. floaters worked beautifully),poles,gaitors for
dryness.
Approx. distance hiked:4.5 Mi.
