Hike: Greeley Ponds Trail, Osceola Trail

Distance: 7.6 Miles

Elevation: 3,100 Feet

Sunday is looking like the best day this weekend.

We’re planning to hike Mount Osceola from the Kancamagus Highway. Our plan will be to follow Greeley Ponds Trail and the Osceola Trail over the East Peak to the Main peak, round trip. The pace will be moderate, at least until we hit the Osceola Trail where it will probably drop off quite a bit, for a while. :) If you’re unfamiliar with this route there are a couple sections that are very rough and very steep. In the winter this is not usually described as an easy hike. But it is fun and interesting, with great views from the main peak if the weather gods cooperate! ;)

We plan to meet at the Greeley Ponds trailhead parking on the Kancamagus Highway at 8:00am and hope to be on trail soon after.

Anybody interested in joining the hike, please reply to this thread or by way of PM.

Full winter gear including crampons is recommended.
