My only previous trip on this trail was in the winter, beginning in a the full moon followed by full on snowstorm just as we reached the staircases...
This time was different!
First 3.5 miles you could push a baby carriage up easily, saw a mountain biker who rode all the way to the base of the switchbacks - i really couldn't blame him and he had obviously been very careful not to tear up any muddy areas.
The switchbacks aren't bad and end quickly, followed by the stairway to heaven. The flat section before the summit is extra special.
