trails: lincoln woods, black pond b.w., lincoln brook, brutus b.w., owlshead summit.
conditions: packed to the summits including black pond bushwack and brutus bushwack. brutus bushwack started a little past the lincoln brook crossing. crossings all solid.
equipment: snowshoes.
comments: I agree with earlier poster that the black pond b.w. is currently a crazy route -- goes too far north and east then turns away from the sloppy orange blazes to head west to the LBT. Seemed like 1+ miles to me (but it was still faster than breaking trail myself). And I agree with Big Earl that the brutus b.w. is relatively steep, as it veers off the skidder track a little earlier than it could otherwise have done. Owl's Head summit cold (0 degrees) and windswept, but pretty.
10 hours round trip.
