Hiked into Thirteen Falls tentsite 9/16 via Franconia Brook trail. An easy 8 miles.
Took the Lincoln Brook trial from Thirteen Falls to the Owl's head path on 9/17. A few
muddy sections where we had look carefully to find the trail on the other side of the
mud. Lost the trail about 300 yards from the Owl's Head path, but bushwacked down to
the brook and found the trail again. This trail is not well marked, lightly used, and
has muddy sections but with a little care is not a problem. It mostly follows small
drains that could be very wet in other weather.
Saw the moose at the bottom of the slide. Just about gone.
Number 41 for me. And I'm from CT. I envy you all from NH. It's a long drive.
