Just looking for trail conditions (water crossings) info for Owl's Head..plan on doing Black Pond bushwack and Brutus bushwack...with this cold weather hopefully any crossings or mudpits will be frozen for an easy time...thanks in advance, Lefty E

i would normally suggest this link: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nh/nwis/uv?site_no=01074520
but it seems the station went down right about when levels would have started to rise a couple days back. the pemi at woodstock (http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nh/nwis/uv?site_no=01075000) looks like it went up quite a bit this week and has since come back down. i would probably plan on water crossings being open, but levels should be reasonable by the weekend. that said planning to possibly do some wading is never a bad idea when heading out to owls head. the snowbridges may also still be intact and you will be golden, but i wouldn't bet on it.

The gauge is back up now and shows the flow below 600 cfps. As Kevin noted, they were eminently crossable yesterday, and the flow is even lower today. In my experience, below 550 cfps it is not worth worrying about it.
