Trails: Dicey's Mill - Walden - East Loop - Dicey's Mill - Rollins - Blueberry Ledge
Conditions: All snow on trails well-packed, though less so on Walden, East Loop, and Rollins. Some bare sections of trail below about 2,000'. Rollins and upper Blueberry Ledge had some quite icy spots. Overall only a handful of small blowdowns, easily navigated.
Equipment: I barebooted Dicey's Mill until the junction with Rollins and used crampons from then on (until reaching lower sections of Blueberry Ledge at the end). Poles very helpful. Snowshoes will be needed next week if we get the snow that has been predicted this week.
Note: Descending Blueberry Ledge there are a few very icy and steep ledges. Mydogs could handle most; but needed assistance in one spot. Fortunately they are both small and agile. Be forewarned before hiking this trail with large and/or elderly canines.
