We followed a freshly broken snowshoe track to the intersection with the Rollins Trail, where we met the six friendly people who'd been breaking (thanks!). We then broke out the rest of the trail to the summit and upper outlook. Trail is now well-broken throughout. Several large, recent blowdowns, generally bypassed by the track, except for one that requires a game of hikers' twister to get through. No ice. Crossing is solidly bridged. Rollins Trail wasn't broken when we passed but likely will be by the end of the day. Tom Wiggin Trail not broken.

Snowshoes are required. Traction not needed.

In spite of a case of Mal de Raquette (from skiing, of all things) and a litany of other excuses, we had a great hike. Day was better than expected with ample sunshine and pretty woods but limited views. Parking lot was full at Ferncroft.
