Date of Hike: June 6, 2009
Trail Conditions: Trails were dry and clear. Normally I would not post this hike but I wanted to let people know that the Walden Trail and the Wonalancet Range Trail appear to be very lightly used and actually were somewhat difficult to follow in places because they are overgrown. I actually enjoyed traveling on trails that are lightly used so I would highly recommend them but do not expect the kind of blazing and obviousness of the trails you find further north in the Whites.
Special Equipment Required: None. Bugs were not a worry with the slight breeze.
Comments: I highly recommend the loop hike of Dicey's Mill to Walden Tr to Wonalancet Range Trail. The uphills are sustained moderate the entire way (ditto for the downhill). The .3mi trail to the ledge view on top of Passaconaway is very well worth the extra effort.
